Add Years To Your Life - Anti Aging Foods..

We have all heard the saying “aging is inevitable”.  According to Medical Gear For Life the statement is very true, but there are certain foods with anti-aging benefits that can help slow down the aging process.  There are so many articles and opinions floating on the internet about anti-aging foods, who really knows which ones offer any benefits.  Below we have included 7 foods with explanations why they are considered anti-aging foods.
Avocados are a great source of vitamin E and potassium, as well as monounsaturated fats and antioxidants.  Some studies have concluded that the monounsaturated fats were largely responsible for the low rates of heart disease and cancer on the Greek island of Crete.

Fish is a great source of protein and is low in saturated fat. The American Heart Association recommends eating omega-3-rich fish at least two times per week.  Omega-3 which is present in fish helps protect against heart disease, reduce inflammation, and lower blood pressure.

Yogurt is rich in calcium, which can helps stave off osteoporosis and contains “good bacteria” that help maintain gut health and diminish the incidence of age-related intestinal illness.

Dark Chocolate:
Chocolate which is rich in antioxidant flavanols can help preserve the healthy function of blood vessels.  Eating dark chocolate has also been shown to protect the skin against the harmful effects of UV exposure.

Nuts of all kinds are a good source of unsaturated fats. Like fish, nuts contain omega-3 fatty acids, which are great for the heart. They're also a good source of vitamins and minerals, including potassium, which helps lower blood pressure; vitamin E, which helps prevent cell damage; and calcium to maintain strong bones.

The antioxidants and nutrients in red wine can help prevent heart disease by protecting the arteries and the lining of blood vessels.  When you drink wine in moderation it helps to protect against heart disease, age-related memory loss, and diabetes.  Resveratrol is the compound in wine that provides the anti-aging benefits by activating genes that slow cellular aging.

These little berries are antioxidant rich which help fight free radicals.  Free radicals are the substances in our bodies that can cause chronic inflammation which is known to contribute to aging by affecting memory and motor function.
