Fitness and Exercise Ideas For Seniors

I made the last putt of the day to finish with a par on the 18th hole this afternoon. I had just shot 80 to finish an up and down round of golf.  As I walked off the 18th green I noticed my breathing was elevated and I felt fatigued.

Golf is a great way to socialize and get outdoors but do we get any health benefits from playing?  The answer is a big fat yes.  Golf is a great way to get moving and work on your fitness regardless of your gender or age. When you swing the club it helps to build your muscles and improve range of motion.  When you walk the course it helps build endurance and stamina.

In conclusion, it's a good idea to warm up your body before you play a round of golf and to do a few stretches for the hips, calves and upper body afterward to help prevent injury.  Medical Gear For Life recommends golf as a great activity for the elderly to help stay active and healthy.
